This has been a controversial topic for quite a while now. But the idea is that your energy and missiles are there to assist you throughout the battle and not specifically for bombing the Finca for quick wins. As of this moment, it is not considered a bug, but I have been in contact with support and the developers to come up with a more balanced solution.
