In initial version of the game - Gold was used to accelerate the game progress.
When you added sicario fusion - You moved this game into "Pay to Win" category, where individual pays $$$ to get for example +20% talents that allowed players and in many cases guaranteed a win against the opponent.
You intentionally left missile finca attacks for spenders to ensure 100% win with either "no deploy or low deploy" is available. Today, this is the most popular attack - 5 or 6 clicks win.
When you added guerrilla units - the players with big $$$, got another advantage +25% damage, + 20% health for the attacking forces. Yet another way for big spenders to win.
Most players are now concerned that with new very pricey, big $$$, skill bonuses like +15% defense building damage increase every second of attack - cartel fincas or a base camps that will not be breachable. In fact it forces cartels to pay for these questionable skills to stay competitive. And these unconscionable bonuses are on top of +5% increases in each category skill provides to sicarios...
This combination makes narcos: PayToPlay game after the level 48 and pay to win the offenses with talents and guerrillas, and pay to win the defense that may not be breached at all. In the addition, we can not see these new skills when attacking an opponent. With these nasty skills - our loss nearly guaranteed.
